Dashboard updates - May 2025

Since 2021, each diocese has had the option of adding some extra dashboard lights relating to:

  • Learning and Development
  • Safer Recruitment and People Management

These extra lights are no longer needed, and were removed from parish dashboards on 1 May 2025.

This change has affected the progress score for some dashboards.

Learning and Development

This only applies to parish dashboards in the followning dioceses: Birmingham, Blackburn, Bristol, Canterbury, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Chester, Coventry, Ely, Exeter, Gloucester, Guildford, Hereford, Leeds, Leicester, London, Norwich, Oxford, Portsmouth, Southwell & Nottingham, St Albans, Suffolk, and Truro.

Since 2021, each diocese has had the option of adding some extra dashboard lights relating to learning and development.

These lights asked parishes to enter the number of people who needed to undertake safeguarding training, and also the number of people who had actually completed it.  The aim was to help a diocesan safeguarding team to estimate the number of people who needed to be trained across the entire diocese.

However, diocesan safeguarding teams had told us that the information was less useful than we had hoped.  Furthermore, we are developing more accurate ways of gathering the same information.

For these reasons, these extra lights were removed from parish dashboards on 1 May 2025.

Safer Recruitment and People Management

This only applies to parish dashboards in the followning dioceses: Bath & Wells, Blackburn, Bristol, Canterbury, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Chester, Durham, Ely, Exeter, Gloucester, Hereford, Leicester, Lincoln, Liverpool, London, Norwich, Oxford, Portsmouth, Rochester, Salisbury, Sheffield, Sodor & Man, St Albans, Truro, Winchester, and Worcester.

Since 2021, each diocese has had the option of adding an extra dashboard light relating to safer recruitment and people management.

This light asked parishes to say which sections of the Safer Recruitment and People Management Guidance  they were currently complying with.  The aim was to raise awareness of the new guidance that came into force in January 2022.

This light has served its purpose in raising awareness of the Safer Recruitment and People Management Guidance.  Furthermore, at Level 2, there are other dashboard lights that monitor compliance with the mandatory requirements for each church activity.

For these reasons, this extra light was removed from parish dashboards on 1 May 2025.
